So, I felt inspired last night, and made a new card, and made two today. :) I love the new in-colors for this year, and am super excited to use them. These are the cards from last night and today. Hope you like 'em!

Not sure if these little things are supposed to be cupcakes or not, but I totally believe in using your imagination. So, for this card, they are cupcakes. Sweet!

Love this Eiffel Tower!

Momma was over yesterday and took a picture of Lucy to show how much she is growing. I think she has "flying nun" ears. LOL!! She is currently giving me a hard time typing all this. She keeps hitting the caps lock key and chewing on the corner of my laptop, and trying to catch my fingers. Better make this quick!

Wow! I sure have been busy.

I am still keeping LeeAnna this summer, so we are having many fun-filled days at Aunt Bee's house.

Lucy is getting bigger. Well, Mom says that she is, but I guess since I am with her all the time, I don't quite see it. But we'll go with it. :)

I got my order from Stampin' Up! of new products from the NEW CATALOG!! (Yes, I'm excited) And while I know that I can make much prettier cards than these, I had to make a quick few cards last night and today. I'm thinking about going and stamping some more when I get off the computer tonight.

This card was a kind-of case from the new catalog cover. Obviously, not quite as pretty as the one on the cover. Mine is a bit more simple, but I was in a hurry. :)

This set is so cute with the birdcage, an Eiffel Tower, and dress form! Love it! Made this card for Mom, she wanted one with the birdcage! :)

And, you know that I love the pink-orange-brown combo, and this has the new Melon Mambo (or something like that) color! I think it is so pretty with the pumpkin! This was simple, but again - quick!

So, I guess I will go stamp some more. I think Lucy is ready for bed anyway. Hope to post more soon!

Well, I finally got a picture of the banners that I've made so far for the house. This first one is in the studio, and really looks good on the wall above my scrapbook table.

This one is in the kitchen over the sink. I think it looks cute there at the window.

I have a few banners that I'm interested in selling, with words like "family", "hug me", "cowboy", "Diva", two other "Enjoy" banners with cherry & apple paper, "Boo", "Girly-Girl" and I can make just about anything that you would like a banner to say. So, if you're interested, please let me know. I love to make these - practically addicted to it, and I can get them made quickly. :) I have made some for baby shower gifts, gifts for a sweet hostess, and much more! And if anyone knows me, I have a wide selection of scrapbook papers from all those years at both the SB stores, (and I don't ever resist shopping...) :).

I finally got a good picture of my new Lucy Ann!

She is 10-11 weeks old, and she is half Dachshund-half Yorkie. I got her from a girl at work, and have had her since June 2nd. We had a little bit of a rocky start, but she is a momma's girl. :)

She has wiggled so much whenever I tried to take a picture that it always turned out blurry. But I am glad that she finally was still enough for a quick photo-op! :)

Last Saturday, June 20th, we celebrated Aspen's third birthday! She had two cakes, lots of presents, and lots of time to splash in the pool! She was a little unsure about blowing out the candles, but was certainly interested in the icing that stuck to the bottom of them. She would take the candle out, lick the frosting off, stick the candle back in the cake, and repeat!

After cake and presents, she was ready to swim! They had a slip-n-slide set up for her, and a little pool, but she later moved on to the big pool and swam for at least an hour. She was showing me how to do the slip-n-slide here. She said "Look Bee, I show you how to do it." So, there was a little dance in the sprinkles and of course, plenty of smiles!

It is hard to believe that she is already 3!! (Her actual birthday was on Wednesday, the 24th.)

As soon as I get the pictures on the computer, I finally got a good picture of my new puppy, Lucy. She wiggles so much all the photos are blurry! LOL!! And I can't wait to show you some of the banners that I have made recently. I just hung a new one up in my kitchen, and have a really cute one in my studio!

A few things since we last talked...

These beautiful flowers were at our church Sunday, May 31, in honor of one of members who passed away a year ago. Brenda was a wonderful friend, a special woman, and is deeply missed. I had to take a picture of these beautiful flowers that a friend of hers sent to the church.

Then, FINALLY, June 4th was the last day of school. I took my camera to get a few last day photos, and one of my goofies got the camera from me and started to take pictures of everyone. So, there are lots of blurry and crazy photos to go through, but it was kind of cute to watch them pose and "ham-it-up" for the camera. I kept saying "No bunny ears."

Indigo Bunting

While I realize that this is not the best picture of all, these little birds were out on my back patio today. (I got this photo through the kitchen window, so it is grey from the screen.) There were about 6 of them, and I have been trying to get a better picture of them all afternoon, but everytime I get to the back door to get a quick picture, they fly away. Mom looked them up in her bird book for me when I called, and then since I couldn't see her book over the phone, I looked up her two prospective types up online. There are some beautiful pictures of them online, and I have never seen this bird before. I usually just have cardinals, finches, wrens, and chickadees out back, and even this week saw a dove. You can see that all the birds have really knocked the birdseed out of the feeder and all over the ground. I'm going to have to get a bird bath to put out now too. :)

Spring Break - Day 2

Hello!

Right now I can see and hear the cutest little birds that have taken up residence under my carport. They are just singing away - and it is just a sweet, sweet little sound. :)

I have made two additions to my living room today.

The first is one of Stampin' Up's fabulous decor elements. I fell in love with this tree and had to have it for my house. I put it in the living room above the couch. I want to add something else to it, I'm just not sure what yet.

The second is something sort of a splurge - but totally worth it. I think Audrey Hepburn was FABULOUS, and now I have her in my living room. :)

It makes my just smile whenever I see it. Mom was with me when I bought it at Target Sunday. Not that I really needed a fabulous picture of Audrey, but she certainly makes a statement.

I haven't done a whole lot on day 2 of spring break. Hung a few more decor elements that I had purchased for the house, and now I think I am going to go craft something.

Some friends and I are going to paint wine glasses Thursday afternoon. That should be fun. I'll have to post pictures of how they turn out. (Let's hope they look good...)

Happy President's Day!

I hope that you had a happy President's Day. Not that today was a large celebration, but at our little elementary school - it was by far a great day!

This year we have been learning all the president's names in jumpstart. The kids have been able to name them all for a couple of weeks, and today they got to have a fantastic celebration! Some of our students got to dress up as the presidents and first ladies, and we had a "Parade of Presidents" today. We even had our local congressman in from Washington to come and speak to our students. Very nice - VERY nice. He seemed so happy to be at our school and meet all of our teachers. The kids are so happy that they have reached this goal! I know that I couldn't name all of the presidents before this year. LOL!! They say we are always learning, right? Two of my students got to be presidents - so cool!

Don't know if I posted this card (I don't think so) and since it is still pretty close to love day, thought I would share this little card with you!

There are some crazy things going on for me this week, so please say a little prayer for me Wednesday, and please pray for my friend Patti, who lost her mother last week. She is a dear scrapbook friend, and I know that she needs to feel God's love and support around her at this time.

I don't really know much. Just wanted to post a picture of the card that I made for one of my co-workers for her birthday. Her birthday was actually on New Year's.

On other news that makes me look like a dork is this:
I had to go grocery shopping this evening, and you know how boring that is... so I took advantage of my handy little mp3 player. I did really well on containing myself and not singing along. But here is the kicker. I'm walking around - with my cell phone in my pocket. Mom says that she called me and that I didn't answer. So - I don't know if my phone just didn't ring (which happens some times) or if I was that dork walking around the Walmart with her phone ringing like crazy in her pocket and it just rings, and rings, and rings.

And apparently, I look like a teacher or a kid-magnet - because some kid came up to me asking what he should do with the gallon of milk that he just dropped. Milk is dripping from the sides, and he's asking me? I told him that he needed to find an employee. There is no telling what happened to the milk. All I could think was "Where is his mother?" Hmmm....

Anyway... I don't really know anything. I have so much to do, and not a lot of time to do it in. But isn't that always life? Hopefully I will have more to show you soon. I am working on Valentine's for my little kiddos... we'll see... :)

So, a few of the things that I was able to make over the Christmas break, was a card for my friend and a little brag book for her to put pictures in of her son. She's my rock star friend, and so when I pre-ordered one of the new Stampin' Up! hostess sets, the star stamp was just perfect!

These were a few of the inside pages. They spelled out his name - Connor. He's a rock star - just like his mom. :)

This was the book put together. His initials on the cover. These are those little badge holders made into a mini album. It is the perfect size to have in her purse.

I also made a pink and brown one for Mom to use to put some Aspen pictures in (a MayMay's brag book). I'll post some pictures of that one soon.

It has been a mighty long time since I have written anything for you. My life has been crazy busy. I moved during November and December, so my life has been a combination of paint, boxes, and odd new stresses. :) I realized how much stuff I had crammed in my other house when I started having to box it up. I have scrapbook stuff coming out my ears!!! I have made a few cards, so as soon as I get them blog-ready, I am excited to be able to share them with you.

I have one room left to paint, and will be doing so hopefully Monday. (No school for MLK Jr. holiday)

I don't have much to say right now, just wanted everyone to know that I am still around, and can't wait to show you some new projects!

A productive Sunday

I had a goal in mind today, and that was to at least make a card. And - Go me! - I made two. I really do try to stamp whenever I can. But I can't tell you the last time I scrapbooked. That is something that I really need to do. There is just so little time!

Our evacuees are scheduled to go back to Beaumont tomorrow around 10:00 am. They are happy to be going back home, but also worried about what they will find when they get there. They do not know the state of their homes and belongings, but I know they are desperately hoping for the best. Please continue to pray for them as they go home tomorrow. It will be a long and stressful ride for them all.

Anyway, here are the cards for today. :)

This one is with the Cheers to You stamp set and the sweet always paper. Great pinks in this paper! I put some dazzling diamonds on the drinks to give them a little sparkle! We all need fun pink girls night every-now-and-then, right?

Besides wanting to do something fun, I was also in a fall mood today. Really wanted to do something halloween-ish, but this is what I did instead. Maybe I can get something halloween-y during the week. Wouldn't that be nice.

Back at it again...

Thursday night we got 100 more evacuees from hurricane Ike. I went and worked Friday night and then spent most of the day yesterday at the church. We lost electricity because of the storm, both at home and at the church. I've been cleaning and doing laundry, talking with the kids and just been an extra pair of hands. I hate that I won't be able to help much this week because of school. Please keep these people in your prayers; as of right now they do not know when they will be able to go home. I had the chance to worship with some of these people last night, and I received the blessing. Some of these families are in such good spirits, and are so thankful. I for one am happy to serve.

We have some debris in the yard, but luckily nothing major. There were trees and power lines and poles down all over the area. A few trees were down across the road and on houses just a few houses down the road. We were/are lucky.

A few days ago I did manage to stamp a few cards last weekend. This is one of the cutest stamp sets that I got from the new Stampin' Up! catalog! :) The owls are too cute! Mom said that she never would have thought that owls would be popular again.

I used the new Washington Apple pattern paper! Super cute colors with new Riding Hood Red and then of course the great Pumpkin Pie!

LeeAnna was watching Leap Frog Letter Factory, and she has all the toys out of the box, spread all over the floor. Earlier she was in the toy box *with* all the toys.

So, I snapped a few pictures.

Then, here is the conversation that followed.
L: Who are you taking a picture of?
Me: You.
L: Here, take a picture of my skunk. (referring to the mouse)
Me: Silly - that's a mouse not a skunk.
L: Oh. Well, take a picture of the mouse.
Me: Well, hold it up so that it's pretty.
L: Take a picture of kitty too.
Me: Ok.

How do you confuse a mouse and a skunk? Ah! It's fun to be 3.

You think we've got enough stuffed animals? They had all been out for a "sleep parade." They were lined up from one end of the living room to the other - all supposed to be asleep. And then after our nap, we certainly had the giggles. LeeAnna didn't want her picture taken. But, oh well. :) Ha!

Aunt Bee has been a busy lady. But I've got some banners that I can't wait to show you, and hope to work on some cards and things this weekend. :)

Just letting you know that I'm still alive. Granted, it doesn't seem like that some days.

I wanted to post a card that I just made! (yes!!) I made it for Kristina's Color Challenge 12. I gotta say - she is one talented gal. I am just happy that I had a few minutes to do something with my stuff. Of course, after I sat down, I didn't know what I wanted to do.

The colors this week are Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White.

Sorry I've been quiet. I've been keeping my friend's little girl this summer 4 days a week. So, the weekends are when I have time to sit down and do things. And don't expect much next week, since it is VBS week, and I've still got things to do. (And I don't like the feeling of that much unfinished business.)

I'm going to go work on some banners. I'm surprised that this didn't end up covered in glitter. I know I've been covered in it for the last couple of days. (Esp. since I spilt my new brown glitter all in my lap last night...) *ha*

I'm really sorry. I can't believe that it has really been since February since I sat down and did a little post for you. I've been supremely busy - but I guess that is really no excuse. (or maybe it is?)

Lots of things have been going on. But the best news is that there are only 9 more days of school! WOW!! And I still have a whole lot to cover with these babies. A whole lot more...
Today was field day, broke out and wore a pair of shorts! And let me tell you - you could spot my big ol' white legs across the football field. LOL!! Some of my kids were in the mood to whine today - so I had to hear crying at each event. Joy. *NOT!!*

I really wish that I had some new cards or scrapbook pages, or *something* to show you. But I don't. I really wish that I did. I made a REALLY cute card for my Nana for mother's day, but I forgot to take a picture of it. But you would have been so proud to see that I actually do remember how to stamp.

I am really tired right now, but my plan is to stamp TOMORROW!!! And so maybe - just maybe - there will be something new to show you. Maybe I'll dream up something awesome!!

I certainly love the little western flair! This was a smaller sized card. Large and small star punches. And stars are my favorite shape.

So, this card I whipped up this morning, while I was (still am) doing laundry. This is for Sketch Challenge 161 over at Splitcoast. I really like the sketch challenges. I had some new things sitting, (since I haven't had much time to stamp lately) and so I thought that I *needed* to stamp this morning. It was important to my health. (that's what I say anyway... at least my mental health...)

This card I made to send to Stampin' Up. They were collecting submissions for display stampers for convention, and I really, really wanted to apply with my submissions. But I wasn't able to get my things mailed, even though I had made them in plenty of time. I'll post the other 2 cards and scrapbook layouts a little later. I'm still a little disappointed with myself. But I guess I could still send a few things in. I never know what might happen.

I *NEED* to go outside and take some pictures of MY NEW CAR!!! It is certainly a monumental deal! I had my hooptie little blazer, and I traded her in for a hot tamale tahoe! :) It has been so rainy lately that I need to rinse her off before I take some pictures. So - look for that soon...
(yes, I cried driving off the lot - because I had my little blazer for almost 7 years. You gals will understand getting attached... or at least Mom will...)

I really stamped!

Just a couple of cards that I made over the Christmas holidays. Was nice to get a chance to sit at the scrap table and make something. I don't know about you, but it sure gives me a good feeling. :)

For this card I wanted to use the darker gray color that SU! has put out in the last new catalog. I wanted to go with something elegant, although, I'm not sure if I accomplished that. I used the silver encore ink to give it some real shine. :)

This was for a sketch challenge over at Splitcoast, and my proportions got a little off. But with a little tweaking - all is well. I used a color combo out of the new Spring-Summer catalog, which, btw - I'm waiting on pins and needles to get - and it hasn't even shipped yet?!?!?! (I'm a sad case indeed...)

The weather around here has been crazy. From 17* a few nights ago, to nearing 70-ish today, my head feels like it is in a blender. My goal is to stamp a few things, and take it easy. I really wasn't prepared to go to school thursday and friday - but we made it. The kids weren't really ready either.

Wow! It is 2008! Sorry for the silence on my end. Trying to get a few things done, and Christmas with first graders NEVER has a dull moment. I've been trying to get rested before we go back to school Thursday. (which I think just a week and a 1/2 is too short...)

I haven't been at my stamp table quite as much as I'd like, but believe it or not - I've whipped out a few things! Exciting huh?!

The first that I want to show you is this great pennant banner that I made based on a tutorial over at Splitcoast. There's not any stamping, but I had a lot of fun making it. It really is very simple.

Here is a close-up of one of the "E"s. I don't think the camera shows all the glitter very well.

I've got to run, but I'll be back shortly. :)

I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving with your family.

I've been on the computer most of the day. I've been looking online all week for ideas for literacy centers, ideas for the classroom, and so I've been doing a little whipping up on a website for my class. I don't know if I really will get it finished/online, but I did get quite a bit done today.

That's really all I know. My birthday tomorrow. I think I may go have a bite of ice-cream cake. :)

Christmas Houses...

Totally inspired by Mary @ Isabella's Closet I had to make a couple of these little houses. I have glitter everywhere on these houses. On the roofs, bases, the sides. (I love glitter!!!) On the green house I sponged ink on the bottom and drew bushes and on the back is a little crawling vine. On the pomegranate house, I used a big swirly stamp to decorate. I used a card I had made for inspiration on the pomegranate house.

I didn't get a chance to post my boo sign that I made for Halloween. I haven't gotten many things made lately, but I was proud of my little sign. I had the letters connected with jump-rings, but when I went to hang it up, it didn't hang straight, so I had to add a little support.

Now I'm thinking about my Christmas cards. And I need to get working on those asap! Maybe next week, since I have a whole week off for Thanksgiving.

Anyway - I'm watching a THS on Patrick Dempsy and then going to watch desperate housewives and brothers & sisters. all kinds of good things.

ooh - not paying attention to what I'm writing. Better just go watch...

Casting Crowns

All of my pictures came out pretty much blurry. I tried to get as close as I could to the front, and for general admin. I think I did pretty good. However, my camera didn't want to cooperate. So, you'll have to just see this one. I don't think I got all the band members in this shot. But this one you can tell that they have facial features. John Waller and the band Leeland opened.

So - that was my Thursday night! I went by myself, and it was such a good concert!

I have a couple of other paper-craft related pictures to post later, but right now I want to go and attempt to make a Christmas tree. :)

I realize that it has been an inconceivable amount of time since I posted last. Or since I stamped. I don't think I had posted this card for you yet, but if I have, forgive me.

So, what has happened since a random post in August, and a post in October? Well... let's see...

School starting
Starting the 2nd six weeks
meetings
Church goings-on
Losing my mind somewhere around August 27 (first day of school)
a stomach virus (thanks kids!)
Poor un-touched stamps
Visit to the Pumpkin Patch (field trip)
Singing in a wedding (tonight actually)

And I acutally have this cute little "boo" sign that I made, and I would love to take a picture of it for you, but my Mom wanted to borrow my camera, and now I can't find it. I also have a card that I need to post for you, but... well...

I am quite sad that I didn't have my camera for the pumpkin patch. It was fun, although I had been out the day before with some stomach virus. And the bumpy hayride didn't boost my confidence in my very little strength.

I have also been so out of the loop in regards to my stamping and scrapbooking. I do miss it. There are some weekends that I go back up to the school and work, just to get things organized and sorted. I lay something down, and then I can't find it a day later. So - I try to put things where I can know they'll be - but that works for Monday, and then Tuesday - Friday it's a free-for-all with everything.

I have also (unfortunately) let the cat out of the bag that I'm crazy and will go dance and do stupid things on stage for the "pep-rally" on Fridays. So I have had to do all sorts of things - and most times I am volunteered, rather than the one volunteering. Oh well.

I'm going to see if I can find something mild to eat. And see if anyone knows where my camera is hiding.

Stamp something good today. I'm going to try.

it has been one long and busy August. It took a lot of work to get my new classroom ready for the school year. These pictures were on meet the parent night (which explains the tubs and boxes). I painted the classroom, hung my fabric on the bulletin board, have my wonderful curtains from Mary and got all the things ready that I needed in the very short month of August. We kept Aspen 4 days, I was in Matagorda for 3, worked in my room for almost the rest of the month, kept things together for church... so if you see one of my friends along the way - tell them hi for me. Oh! And I had to help my best friend get her new classroom ready. (I've spent so much at the teacher store...)

I just wanted to check in. Here are a couple more pictures from my classroom. I'll get some more soon, I only got a few taken before the parents and kids came for a visit.

When you enter, these things are to your right on the wall. Hall passes, school pocket chart has bus numbers, a table for take-home folders and turning in work.

The "table cloth" on this little table is actually one of the curtains that went over my closet last year, when the door was missing. (?? still don't know why...) I have the sides safety-pinned and so it looks nice and neat. It is also not too wide that it blocks the door.

The third of 3 fabulous curtains in my room. This one covers up an unbelievably yucky tile thing above the sink. I've also put our birthday chart there in the little alcove. I need a better option for the mirror.

This is part of the board where I do morning meeting. Our calendar, days of the week, months of the year, days in school, job charts, weather, poetry, counting, alphabet chart for alpha cheer... and (of course) plenty of polka dots.

We've had this little miss yesterday and today to babysit. Mom and I have been busy with her. She's such a little stinker. She'll be 14 months this month, and it just doesn't seem possible.

I went up to the school Monday. I had little green fuzzy things growing on a few of my things. Which - freaks me out. And I don't think any amount of lysol will solve my problems. I went Tuesday and got part of the room painted. I've got to get the rest done tomorrow. When it is all finished, I'll post a picture. It will be a super cute room, even if I'm allergic to the school. (blah)

I haven't had much time to stamp this week. I was really looking forward to all of the dirty dares this past week, but I didn't get a chance to get many done. I'm going to go back before the time to post and play is over and do some. They were all super fun! Well done ladies!!!

This is one of the cards that I did have a quick chance to make. This one is for Lauren's (mytime) sketch challenge. Very cute. And I had to do it in my trendy new fav's. (pomegranate, wasabi, pumpkin, sky)

now - back to that tag I was supposed to write 7 other random things about me.

1. I like (scratch that) love bags. All kinds of bags. Scrapbook bags, teacher bags, purses, tote bags, etc. I also like buckets. Really cute metal buckets. ooh.

2. I lose things. All the time. I'll set my adhesive down on my sb table, and I can't find it to save my life. (and I usually look over it about 10 times.)

3. I wear "Ralph" by Ralph Lauren. One of my dear best friends bought me some years ago, and it was/is the perfect scent for me. And I buy the big bottles.

4. My house colors and classroom colors are completely different. At home I have red, black, brown, white, and then giraffes, leopard prints, and clean lines. At school I have turquoise, hot pink, lime green, back & white polka dots. I love it all. Good thing I have 2 places for my two - very different styles.

5. I wear size 11 shoes

6. I skipped school in college.

7. I took French in high school, and Latin in college. What a combination. right? quaere verum.

I was tagged by Sandy over at Stampin', Scrappin' & More! I'll need to get 7 random things posted for you, but that must wait until tomorrow. I need to go to bed. Had enough drama today and over the week-end. More drama than I deserve. ;)

So - to make this story quick... I got my car back from the body shop last Tuesday. Drove it home. Went Wed. to church and back. Went Sat. to the DQ to get supper - and on the way home Car started smoking. I had to coast home. Lovely. So, today we called an auto guy (Mike) who goes to our church, and he was able to come out and look at it. And it wouldn't move. So, he & his mechanic buddy had to go back to the shop to get transmission fluid, and they had to put a bunch in to get it to go. So, they drove it back to the shop and fixed what was wrong... AND they fixed my air conditioner. This was the 3rd or 4th Texas summer I had gone without AC. But anyway - Mike said that he thought that the hoses weren't connected very well (if at all... *frightning*)

There were other things going on today. But I shall spare you. :) (you're welcome!)

But in the midst of all this - I was able to stamp a little. This is for the Featured Stamper challenge over @ SCS this week. I am totally motivated to stamp from these challenges. (Is it bad that these are stamp-lifts and not totally original ideas?) (nah...) ok. So here is this week's FS24 card.

I've got some other cards to post, but that can wait until later. I have a funeral to go to tomorrow, for a friend's mom who passed away. Very sad.

Wanted & Outlaw

I have been playing with this set and paper today. I am having a great time! They are wicked-cool. (do people still say that anymore?)

This card was supposed to be for the featured stamper challenge, and came out nothing like the card I was trying to use for inspiration. I'll have to try again. But it's a fun card.

For this one I thought that I would make a long card for a workshop that I'm doing this friday. Well, a few layers later, and I thought that this one will be good to show what you can do. (But I'll try not to get too carried away)

This one I cased right out of the catty. Well, the layout anyway. The colors and stamp sets were changed. I made a second that had a few tweaks, and I think that I may have a winner to show off this great combo. (and considering that my hostess wants to see these new boho west things - I'll be in good shape.) (and it's so fun too!!)

You know, it's been raining since the end of may/beginning of june. And it is raining AGAIN!! Not that I'm complaining. I know that we need the rain. We've also had some very nice lower temperatures for July. (not terrible 104+ things) But it has become hard on some places & people. Rivers and lakes are flooded, roads have been destroyed, and the lake for our sub-division is *way* up. The creek behind our house is pretty much full (luckily, it runs to the lake) and we are squishy. Just plain squishy. I don't know what's going on, but at least we are safe.

Yes. This is a rather bold color combination. But I like it. I used the new pomegranate, wasabi, and new basic grey colors with pumpkin & vanilla. Fun & funky. I was also excited to use the new scallop punch! I wish that it was a little bigger, but I think it is so fun! I only have the scallop oval in the *other* brand, and had been holding off on buying more, and am really glad that I got this new circle. I can tell you already that it will be a dearly-loved card staple.

I've got a workshop Friday that I need to get ready for. But the card I just made to try and give me ideas got a little carried away, and might not be good for a workshop. But I will definately take it to show. (I'll photo and post in a bit)

I did go to bed early last night. 11:30. And I slept late too. So I guess I was really tired. Actually, I woke up at 6:-something, and looked at the clock, said "nah" and rolled over and went back to sleep.

I just heard the cat getting into my glass of water. And he's old and cranky, and just won't listen. (I had to go get him before he spilled the glass) His hair is falling out, he stands right in front of you to keep you from going a certain direction, and no-one can go to the bathroom without him knocking you down to get in the sink and drink from the faucet. Company just doesn't know what to think.

I'm off to stamp some more. :)

Today I made 2 cards in 1 little hour. Can you believe it? I hardly ever get something made that quickly. And cards usually go quicker than scrapbook pages. Those take me for-ev-er. I have to re-photograph the other card I made, but here is one of them:

I finally got to use some of the new stamps I got Friday. Having to just open the box and then leave was not fun. But at least it made me want to stamp even more. I think I've made at least 1 thing with each of the new stamps that I got, and those pictures will be coming shortly. I'm super tired tonight, so I think I'm going to go to bed early. Or - on time. However you'd like to look at it.

Mom tagged me. 8 random things about myself. Hmmm...

1. I've always known that I was supposed to be a teacher. Even as a child.

2. I've had the same best friend since I was 5. I have a couple other best friends, but K is more like a sister than anything else. We met at swimming lessons.

3. I get stuck on songs and albums. I have to listen to a cd over and over again. And then I have to literally force myself to listen to something else. Seriously. I just had to do it tonight.

3b. I can learn the lyrics to a song pretty quickly. Give me a few listens to a song, and I can sing along. Which makes it all the more difficult NOT to sing along to a song. I know so many. Can start lyrics to a song when I hear the first couple of notes.

4. I love to be organized. But from the state of my studio you would never know it. I've even had friends come to organize their spaces - and think I am their own "Mission: Organization".

5. I am a book junkie. Doesn't matter what kind. I have an entire bookshelf that is scrapbooking idea books and magazines. I have a bookshelf of regular books. I have a bookshelf of children's books. I have a bookshelf of teaching books. Books, books, books... (I've bought 7 this week alone. And 5 last week. And have an online cart of about... *cough-17-cough* more.)

6. My foot-wear staple is flip-flops. I even made a scrapbook layout about it one time.

7. I considered a math degree when I first started college but decided on English. I knew I wanted to teach. But just not little ones. But here I am. A 1st grade teacher.

8. I leave the advent calendar on my door way too long. I always think to myself that I need to take it down as soon as Christmas is over. But then come March when I *see* the snowmen - I have to take it down. I just get used to it being there, and well... forget.

I can't remember if I posted this little fella or not. I guess I get that from staying up too late all the time. My brain is slightly confused. (haha... slightly)

I have made a few new things with the NEW STAMPS that I got Friday. But I haven't really had a big chance after getting VBS wrapped up, and then spending this evening in town. I'll have to photo & post. I'm pleased with what I got on this first go-round. Although, I already have an order in draft for some more things. :)

Not too much news at the moment. I had a chance to stamp last night, and a little tonight. And I thought I would post these before going to bed. (Now that it's 3 am) (yes - I'm insane)

Color challenge this week was real red, green galore, and tempting turquoise. Just love the green & turquoise together. My classroom is green galore, tempting turquoise, pink passion, and black & white polka dots. Bright? yes. Cute? terribly. But anyway.

I also went through some of the sketch challenges and found a few that have been in the sketch-past. I really liked the simplicity of this sketch (as we all know how I like to do things simple), and so I pulled out a set I haven't used in a while, and just had fun! I love how the patterned paper really makes a statement. And it's polka dots. And there you go.

that I could stamp all day. Ok. at least once per day. I'm trying to get the stamp bug satisfied this summer, but the more I stamp, the more I want to stamp. And this could get hazardous come mid-August. Then I'll have to be a slave to the job again, and my poor little stamps find themselves lonely.

Why do I mention this?

For 1, I'm packing up these retired stamp sets, and I'm getting silent auction forms made for them all, to get ready and sell them tonight! And as I look at each of these, they are so - CLEAN! Which, I keep them pretty clean, but some of these I mounted, and MAYBE used once. Does that bother me? A little. But, on the other hand, hopefully someone else will have the benefit of loving my slightly-used, very cute stamp sets. They are running over my storage, and, while I believe I will in some way miss them, it will leave me with a little money to get some new things from the new catalog. The retirement list left me with alphabets and phrases - not many image sets.

I had not participated in the Splitcoast limited supply challenge before, and today's was to CASE a card from the new catalog. I found a little gem on page 120, and so - here's the yee-haw version. I'm waiting for the new boho-west products to come my way, and just using the colors helped. I really like these colors. Yee-haw!

I also got a little gifty in the mail from my HSS (heartland secret sister) yesterday! She sent me two great cards and little package of badge holders. I had been wanting to make one of the little books like on the SCS tutorial, but when I went to walmart, they were out of the right ones. (how dare them?!) (haha). I haven't made it yet.

Isn't this a fun card! She was so sweet to make it for me! What a great card to show at workshops! I'll post her other one tomorrow! Thanks dear!! *hugs*

I've got to go and work on VBS in a little bit. Been thinking decorations, and have got to get some samples of the crafts made, and then get everything sorted out. I can't believe that it starts Monday. Time always goes quicker than I'd like. But, after VBS is over, you'll get to hear all about me painting my classroom. (since I had to move next door) (@ school)

This one was made with Vases in Vogue. I think that this set is so cute! I had to do a bit of watercoloring yesterday, and just had to play with this set. I love to watercolor, so it is fun to me. I used watercolor crayons & my aqua-painter. It did come out a little brighter than I had intended, but that's ok - right?

I'm getting sets all labeled and bid sheets made for the retired set auction that I'm doing with my upline April. I don't have too many sets to sell - ok... 55 right now. (and I may look through the ones I said I was going to keep again...)

I'm really looking forward to getting a few more things from the new catalog, but I'll need to wait - at least until the order I placed yesterday arrives.

Made some really cute thank you cards for some ladies who attended a workshop about a week & a half ago. I'll have to take a picture before I mail the cards. Very cute. AND in my super retro colors. (pumpkin pie, pink passion, so saffron & chocolate chip) (and old olive if you need green for leaves or something) I know I've been looked at strange for that combination - but it makes me happy. and that's a good thing.

I may or may not get around to posting much this next week. Vacation Bible School is all next week, and I will be a living stress-mess. I always say that the next year I will delegate someone to do some of the grunt work with me - but this year, when I asked, I got turned down. Sooo... that leaves me with all the work. I painted murals on Tuesday, and will have to finish moving furniture today. (ok - this post is like @ 2:15 am - so I'm a little off on schedule) Decorations may be small this time around - just because it is just me. I did write it again this year. Am I crazy? YES!

I need to go to bed, so that I can think it is officially Thursday.

Oh, and I did end up hearing fireworks after the rain ended. And my best friend is coming in tomorrow. Whee-hoo!

It has been pretty rainy all day today. So, no fireworks for us. But I'm sure that someone in the neighborhood will have them later tonight. I heard many going off last night after the rain quit.

A little sparkle for the holiday. This was the new Baroque Motifs set that I got from Stampin' Up! I got the set and then I didn't really know what to do with it. I have been trying to come up with some different things to use it. I am typically a whimsical/flower type person, but I really want to expand my skills. (which I think I mentioned the other day)

My grandparents came over for lunch today. We had the typical 4th fare: hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, lemonade. Very good. We haven't had anyone over to the house in such a long time, so it was nice to get to see them and visit. I really want to entertain later on, although, I'm not sure who I would entertain for...

FS21 & a short ramble

This was made for the Featured Stamper challenge this week over at Splitcoast. I had been wanting to make a card with Pick-a-Petal, but I just couldn't get anything I made to look good. When I saw the card made by Faith (Markie's Mom) I just had to do it with P-a-Petal. Granted, it is very simple, but I like simple.

Been playing with the baroque motifs stamp set, just got it yesterday. I had ordered it during the demonstrator pre-order time, and it had taken me almost all month to decide that I wanted it. But then when I got it - I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do. But I think I like what I've done to it so far, and I'll post that when it is finished. I'm really having to stretch myself artistically now - I want to do so many new and beautiful things. One day, maybe, I could be dirty-worthy. (But I'm not going to hold my breath)

SO - I finally got the new catalog today! WHOO-HOO!!! Now I want to order my wish-list's worth. I don't have as many on my list as I have had in past years, but the ones I'm excited about are *fabulous*!!! These new card samples and layouts are wonderful inspiration - just what I am needing. I was feeling a little stuck in a rut. But this great set made it into the new catalog from the Spring Mini - which is fun! Some of my cards and ideas won't be all lost.

This week's featured stamper over at Splitcoast is Cambria. She is such an awesome designer, and her work is admired by all. The way we play over at featured stamper is to choose a card to CASE, but you have to change a few things. These were some of my cards that I made this afternoon - pretty quickly. They were inspired by her card found here.

Sorry the pictures are a tad blurry. When I take them with the flash, they don't turn out, but sometimes they get a little blurry when there's no flash. Go figure.

Still waiting on my copy(ies) of the new Stampin' Up! catalog. Didn't come in the mail today, and I'm just about down to 2 or 3 fingernails left to chew. (haha! maybe more than that... it just feels that way)

flip-flop cards

You can just tell that flip-flops are my favorite. I have about 4 flip-flop necklaces, and pairs upon pairs of the shoes. Not to mention random charms and other things flip-flop. So, it was no surprise that when I found this flip-flop pattern on Splitcoast Stampers in the Dirty Dozen section, that I would have to adapt it and use it. I love the perks of being a member! ;)

I used this card for a shoe-box swap. Just love the stars on it too! And I am hopelessly in love with the typeset alphabet stamps that I used for the "hi".

I am really excited about the new catalog coming up in just about a week or so. My box of catalogs have shipped already - and so I'll be waiting - nose against the window - for the UPS man to arrive. He knows that I'm crazy, and completely in love with stamps. Good man he is.

A quick thanks to my mom's blog friend Mary for giving me a plug on her blog. I have actually been blogging off and on since 2001, so, it is always good to be back. I do have my own .net, but sometimes this is just as easy. ;)
